Hello to each of you, ASNA Members.  I am so honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve as the 2009-2010 president.  As the voice of child nutrition, we are the leaders in our field.  It is up to us as an organization to promote school nutrition and to educate others on how important it is for all children to have access to nutritious breakfast and lunch in school because it will impact their ability to learn and support the child’s health and wellbeing.

Each of us has the opportunity to participate in shaping the future, because each time we speak with a child or smile at a child it is a teachable moment.

Let’s celebrate our successes:  so often we get caught up in the things that we need to do that we forget to take the time to celebrate the positive things that we do each and every day for our children.  I want to hear about all your successes throughout the year.

Alabama School Nutrition Association is only as strong as the members make it.  I look forward to hearing from you.  I know this year will be wonderful and filled with exciting learning opportunities for each of us.
